Don't forget the hands!

Smooth hands

Other than our face and neck, the hands are actually one of the most telling areas of age. Just like the face, our hands tend to lose volume and the skin quality as we age, giving the hand bones and veins more prominence. Sun damage such as freckles, sunspots and pigmentation also give an aged appearance to the hands.

However, with the right care and treatments, your hands can maintain a more youthful appearance.

Treatment options for Hand Rejuvenation

Cosmetic Injectables

Dermal fillers can be used to rejuvenate the appearance of the hands by adding volume to reduce the visibility of veins, tendons, and wrinkles that have become more apparent with age.

Biostimulators such as Profhilo® or Radiesse® can help to restore volume, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and improve the overall quality and texture of the skin. Biostimulators such as these, work by stimulating collagen and elastin production in the hands, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

Radiesse®+ is one of our preferred products to improve the appearance of the hands. Radiesse + is a dermal filler used to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and areas of volume loss and while it works as a dermal filler, it also stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin in the skin, improving skin quality for a more youthful, brighter appearance.

IPL

IPL Fotofacial treatments rejuvenate the hands by removing freckles, age spots and fading sun-damage such as brown pigment spots. Simultaneously, IPL boosts collagen & elastin production to help tighten the skin and minimise fine lines & wrinkles.

Skincare for hands

Protect

Protecting your hands from everyday exposure to the sun will help to prevent early signs aging on your hands. The hands are often exposed when outdoors and when driving. You can do this by applying SPF on the back of your hands, reapplying when necessary and wearing gloves while driving.

Treat

Use your skincare on your hands. The same products you use on your face will often also benefit your hands.

Vitamin C Serum, such as Dermatech C-15, can be used to protect from further UVA/UVB damage, fade existing sun damage and to rehydrate the hands.

Glycolic Cream may be used to boost cell turnover and collagen production to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as overall skin texture and tone of the skin.

Although if your hands are significantly more damaged than your face, you may require a more targeted approach. We recommend coming in to see one of our practitioners who can create for you a treatment plan for your hands.

Moisturise

Use a nourishing, hydrating hand cream at night-time and as required during the day.
