Mole & Skin Tag Removal

Transform provides a comprehensive minor surgery service for the removal blemishes, seborrhoeic warts, moles, tags and skin cancers.

All moles are assessed for skin cancer by a doctor, by dermascopy or siascopy. Suspicious lesions are sent for histological examination by a pathologist. Dr Little has postgraduate training and a certificate in primary care skin cancer surgery from the University of Queensland.

Minor surgery for removal of lesions not for cosmetic reasons (i.e. deemed to be a medical necessity) is often covered by private health insurance plans.

Our Treatments

The Surgitron technique for benign mole removal is used with good cosmetic outcome and is best performed on raised moles. Surgitron is a radiosurgery technique for removing benigh tissue by shaving it without bleeding or sutures and has minimal scarring. It’s cutting effect known as electrosection is performed without manual pressure or crushing of cell tissue. Heat is generated by resistance to the passage of a radio frequency wave applied by a fine wire surgical electrode.

The heat disintegrates and volatises the cells in the path of the radio waves. This effects razor sharp, yet bloodless removal of unwanted and often distressing benign moles, skin tags and nodules. Treatment is effected under local anaesthetic.
