Tropical Wedding - Cherie and her husband.

Cherie

Firstly, I want to say, if you are thinking of a Tropical wedding, you won’t regret it. It was most memorable, special day marrying my best friend with my loved ones around me in beautiful Rarotonga. The balmy tropical heat and tropical views made it all that more special.

In the lead up to my wedding, I had a combination of a treatments – over the course of about a year, I had IPL, Microneedling, HydraFacial, Vitamin C Infusion, Profhilo® and anti-wrinkle treatments.

Leading up to your big day, I would recommend booking a free consultation with one of our team to help advise options around skin goals you are wanting to achieve, and we can help stagger and time the treatments you have decided to go for to get the best out of them.

Skincare

At home skin care routines are just as important as in-clinic treatments. as soon as you have set that important date, ensuring you have a good skincare regime will ensure your skin looks its best on the day.

My favourites from our in-house formulated Dermatech range are the Glycolic Cream, C-15 Vitamin C Serum, and Deep Hydrating Moisturiser.

The Dermatech Glycolic Cream helps skin cell turnover and can be applied at night.

The C-15 Vitamin C serum gives your skin a beautiful glow, and can be applied during the day and of course followed by a good sunblock such as Dermatech Dermablock over the top, to protect from harmful UV rays.

If you are not sure what to use for your skin, consult a professional (such as anyone of the team here at Transform Clinic).

Skin Boosters

Profhilo® is a Hyaluronic Acid based product that is injected into five specific points on each side of the face. It consists of two treatments one month apart.

Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin production improving the overall health of the skin, attracting one thousand times its weight in water it plumps the skin, giving the skin a radiant and youthful look. The best bio stimulatory effect is after 5 months so I would recommend 6 months prior to your big day.

Botox®, Dysport®, Or Xeomin® (Anti-Wrinkle)

Anti-wrinkle treatment can give a smoother, more youthful, airbrushed finish to the skin, and can look very natural.

Botox®, Dysport® or Xeomin® (anti-wrinkle) is best done 4 weeks before your big day, allowing the 2 weeks to work initially and another 2 weeks if any adjustments are required to take effect also.

If you haven’t had anti-wrinkle before, I would recommend a trial run 5-6 months before your wedding, to see the results and fine tune your treatment prior to the wedding.

Botox® can help reduce wrinkles and fine line activity, but did you know it helps reduce or prevent sweating? So, if you are having a tropical wedding and are prone to sweating or sweat patches, Botox® is an amazing treatment for underarms.

Before and after 1x IPL Fotofacial - Individual results may vary.

IPL Fotofacials

Photofacials / Intense Pulse Light is an exceptionally good treatment for reducing pigment, spots, broken capillaries and reducing redness. This treatment is best done in winter or can be done in warmer months if diligent care is taken in the sun.

I had a series of Elos Fotofacial RF treatments last winter to even my complexion as I had some brown pigment spots from years of running and not being as careful with my sunblock as I am now, knowing what these harmful rays can do to the skin.

With the ELOS Fotofacial RF, unlike other Fotofacials, it also has the Radio frequency (RF) which adds a rejuvenating factor, so the skin appears healthier and improves the overall tone.

Collagen Induction Therapy / Microneedling

Microneedling induces collagen induction by causing little micro injuries, the body’s response is to heal itself and in doing so stimulates collagen formation.

A course of 4 treatments is recommended to get a desired result, 6 weeks apart (8 weeks for anyone 50+ years). So you can start anywhere from 4-6 months prior to the wedding.

I definitely saw an amazing improvement in my skin quality from this treatment and in conjunction with the Profhilo, my skin was at its very best.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers again are best done some time before the wedding, to ensure you have the desired outcome and allow any bruising or swelling to settle. I would highly recommend a trial if you are thinking about Dermal Fillers and coming to discuss with one of our team.

HydraFacial at Transform Clinic

Clinical Facials

We offer a range of facials, depending on the achieved outcomes, whether you have some acne that needs addressing, require more moisture or need some good exfoliation, we can create for you a plan to get a beautiful bridal glow.

Microdermabrasion with Glycolic peel is an exfoliating treatment, breaking down the dead skin cell layer which can make our skin appear dull and by doing this skin care products can penetrate

LED treatments are good for helping with acne, inflammation, and redness.

I had regular HydraFacial’s to hydrate my skin, and this is good for reducing congestion. I had a Vitamin C Infusion Facial 4 days before we flew to Rarotonga for the big day to keep my skin hydrated and help provide antioxidants to keep my skin looking fresh as air conditioning of planes can be quite drying.

Last but not least, relax and enjoy the lead up to your big day!

A few tips when having a tropical wedding

1.       Make sure you wear your sunblock in the days leading up to wedding so no strap lines or sunburn in photos.

2.       Take your birth certificate as require it at the Registry office when applying for a marriage certificate.

3.       Don’t forget your insect repellent.

4.       Relax and enjoy!
